On Saturday 5th of September, during the international jewellery B2B show Vicenzaoro September 2026, Italian Exhibition Group recognised Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman of Dubai Jewellery Group and a leading figure in the Gulf jewellery industry, for his more than 40-year connection with Vicenzaoro and his longstanding support for IEG’s jewellery activities in Italy and Dubai.
For over four decades, Mr. Abdullah has been a regular buyer at IEG’s jewellery trade shows, particularly Vicenzaoro and Oroarezzo, building strong relationships with Italian manufacturers and contributing to the international reach of Made in Italy jewellery.
His commitment also extends to IEG’s activities in Dubai. As Chairman of the Dubai Jewellery Group, he has supported JGTD – Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai since its launch, helping strengthen the links between the Italian and Middle Eastern jewellery industries.
Mr. Abdullah has famously described Vicenzaoro as “the Harvard of jewellery”, a tribute to the show’s role as a meeting point for expertise, business and innovation within the international jewellery community.
The recognition took place at a particularly significant edition of Vicenzaoro, marked by the opening of the new Hall 2, the launch of a September edition of the international technology show T.Gold, and the hosting of the CIBJO Centenary Congress. The ceremony celebrated not only a long-standing professional relationship, but also the importance of the personal connections and friendships that have been built over decades.
To mark the occasion, Marco Carniello, Chief Business Officer and of IEG, and Matteo Farsura, Director of Vicenzaoro, together with representatives of the Jewellery & Fashion Division, presented Mr. Abdullah with a Murano glass cup created by Salviati, one of Venice’s historic glassmaking houses, symbolising the craftsmanship and enduring relationships at the heart of the IEG Jewellery & Fashion community.
